Did They Get it Right? Royal Rumble 2021

The 2021 Royal Rumble is now behind us on the Road to WrestleMania, and from now until WrestleMania and possibly after, people will debate furiously about the winners of both the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches, did they get it right? Let’s find out

Women’s Royal Rumble Match Winner: Bianca Belair: In my opinion, Bianca Belair was the clear choice to win the Women’s Royal Rumble. She had all the momentum building on her star power, and there is no bigger way to solidify someone as a next big star as having them win the Royal Rumble, there were other acceptable winners such as Alexa Bliss and Rhea Ripley, however it had to be Belair, it just made too much sense to pick anyone else, plus the thought of Sasha Banks vs Bianca Belair at WrestleMania is a glorious thought.

Men’s Royal Rumble Match Winner: Edge: Man I dreaded writing this. Edge, you were the first wrestler I ever considered my favorite wrestler. I cried last year when you made your return, you will always be one of my favorites, yet you shouldn’t have won this match. Here’s my biggest reason. In 2012, only Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin had won multiple Rumble matches. Since then that list has now added John Cena, Batista, Triple H, Randy Orton and now Edge. Can we please stop, I mean 5 of the last 9 men’s Royal Rumbles have been won by a wrestler who has already won a Rumble. People would not mind seeing Edge challenging for a world title at WrestleMania, there are plenty of ways you could get to that point without giving the Rumble win to Edge. At least it wasn’t Goldberg but Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles, even Bobby Lashley would’ve been better winners in my opinion, I love Edge and I always will, but that doesn’t mean I think he should’ve won this match.
